The Delta Regional Authority (DRA) recently awarded approximately $7 million toward 25 workforce development projects supporting economic development and prosperity throughout the lower Mississippi River Delta and Alabama Black Belt regions. Together, the grants impact 62 participating Work Ready Communities. WRC locations funded include 1 from Alabama, 8 from Arkansas, 4 from Louisiana, 12 from Mississippi, 7 from Missouri, and 5 from Tennessee.
The Missouri Department of Higher Education & Workforce Development (MDHEWD) was recently recognized at the ACT Workforce Summit in Atlanta, Georgia for having 13 counties maintaining or achieving their Certified Work Ready Community status in the past year.
Missouri currently leads the nation with a total of 99 Certified Work Ready Communities and 112 communities that are participating and working towards certification.

- Missouri State University, West Plains, MO, $95k: Robotics training; 50-75 workers
- ProGeny Place, Memphis, TN, $102k: Food-based manufacturing and distribution certificates for victims of domestic violence; 20 workers
- Rural Health Association, Decaturville, TN, $149k: Pre-apprenticeships for nuring aids and assistants; 500 workers
- theCO, Jackson, TN, $77k: Dev Catalyst Alumni Program in computer science, web development, and data management; 1,800 workers
- Griot Arts, Clarksdale, MS, $127k: Internship-to-Job Pipeline; 35 workers
- Research Park Corporation, Baton Rouge, LA, $150k: Expands Apprenti Louisiana to 57 parishes; 48 workers
