The Missouri Department of Higher Education & Workforce Development (MDHEWD) was recently recognized at the ACT Workforce Summit in Atlanta, Georgia for having 13 counties maintaining or achieving their Certified Work Ready Community status in the past year.
Missouri currently leads the nation with a total of 99 Certified Work Ready Communities and 112 communities that are participating and working towards certification.
Taney County Partnership is also focusing on Taney County Career Days on March 3-5, (re)certified work ready communities (CWRC), Imagine Branson (newsletter) stories, J1 Visa work programs, H-2B visa non-immigrant program, Puerto Rico worker recruitment and the Community Workforce Summit on Jan. 28
Fifteen Missouri counties recently earned Certified Work Ready Community (CWRC) status. Knox, Osage, Gasconade, Holt, Atchison, Texas, Gentry, Taney, Worth, Bates, Ralls, St. Clair, Montgomery, Ozark and Cass counties each earned the designation.
SPRINGFIELD, MO –The Missouri Job Center hosted a celebration for Taney County becoming a Certified Work Ready Community on Friday, August 10 at OTC Table Rock Campus in Hollister, Mo. Area leaders, elected officials, and Job Center staff joined together to celebrate this important accomplishment.
Taney County completed their certification in the ACT® Work Ready Program in May 2018. To obtain certification, ACT® set goals for Taney County to meet in four areas, all of which were surpassed.
“ACT® Certified Work Ready Community status is another quality tool in our toolbox to drive economic growth, specifically when it comes to workforce development,” said Jonas Arjes, Executive Director, Taney County Partnership. “We are ready to help employers recruit better prepared employees.”
