Jackson Public Schools Announces $4.4 million Renovation of Career Development Center September 24, 2025

WLBT-TV showcased plans from the Jackson Public Schools for a $4.4 million upgrades to its career development center, which is one of the largest programs of its kind in Mississippi. The 48-year-old center now boasts state-of-the-art classrooms and industry-standard labs across 23 career pathways and the ACT WorkKeys NCRC.

JPS Career Development Center Students Intern at Nissan April 10, 2025

A group of Jackson (MS) Public School District students is gaining on-the-job training through the inaugural Nissan JPS Career Development Center Spring Internship Program. Jackson Public Schools, Nissan North America, and the Central Mississippi Planning and Development District are partners in the program. The internship is exclusively available to JPS students enrolled at CDC.

Work for Warriors Mississippi Connects Employers to Guard Member with WorkKeys NCRC June 21, 2024

Work for Warriors, a program from the Mississippi National Guard, celebrated the success of a recent pilot with the WorkKeys NCRC.  All 154 soldiers statewide earned the National Career Readiness Certificate from ACT. More than half of those newly certified guard members are eager to connect with local employers. 

The Mississippi National Guard’s Battle Hand Off Ceremony is July 19th through 21st at the Camp Shelby Joint Force Training Center in Hattiesburg. Employers slated to attend include AWS, Milwaukee Tool, NUCOR Steel, and Continental Tire. Work for Warriors encourages all local employers with current openings to attend.
