Work for Warriors Mississippi Connects Employers to Guard Member with WorkKeys NCRC June 21, 2024

Work for Warriors, a program from the Mississippi National Guard, celebrated the success of a recent pilot with the WorkKeys NCRC.  All 154 soldiers statewide earned the National Career Readiness Certificate from ACT. More than half of those newly certified guard members are eager to connect with local employers. 

The Mississippi National Guard’s Battle Hand Off Ceremony is July 19th through 21st at the Camp Shelby Joint Force Training Center in Hattiesburg. Employers slated to attend include AWS, Milwaukee Tool, NUCOR Steel, and Continental Tire. Work for Warriors encourages all local employers with current openings to attend.

WTOK-TV Features NCRC Honorees from Ross Collins High School April 03, 2024

“Ross Collins is very beneficial and so is the ACT WorkKeys,” said Marynell Harrell, MHS Senior. “It helps you in the future, it teaches you real life problems, and I think that is going to be really helpful as I go through my college career and my career in general.”

Over eighty Meridian High School students received ACT WorkKeys certifications during a special breakfast at the Wildcat Cafe at Ross Collins Career and Technical Center.

Every advantage counts when looking to attract new industries, and the City of Meridian is looking to get a leg up on the competition. A cooperative effort between the city, Meridian Public School District, Lauderdale County School District and Meridian Community College looks to lead the community into becoming an ACT Work Ready Community.
