The Texarkana Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce its continuation in partnering with local schools and businesses to increase awareness of the National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) and its benefits. The Chamber’s number one goal is to aid in the creation of a work-ready community by equipping individuals with the skills and credentials necessary to succeed in the workforce. The Chamber is diligently working toward its’ goal of becoming a certified work-ready community (WRC).
The building, which is nearly 15,000 square feet, is a modern employment training center for students in the region and will house both the Arkansas High School Collegiate Academy and the Secondary Career and Technical Education Center, according to Casey Curtis, the college's communications coordinator. It also will function as a community meeting space and a site for business and industry training.
The Texarkana USA Regional Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the 2022 graduates who have obtained the ACT WorkKeys National Career Readiness Certification (NCRC). The Chamber was honored to present platinum, gold, silver, and bronze medals to students in recognition of their hard work.
“The Texarkana USA Regional Chamber of Commerce is proud to support this initiative throughout our local high schools in Arkansas and Texas,” said Robbin Bass, Director of Business Retention and Expansion at the Chamber. “We’re excited to celebrate the success of the students and see where they go in their future endeavors.”
The Texarkana USA Regional Chamber of Commerce Foundation has been awarded a $331,988 grant from the T.L.L. Temple Foundation to further their efforts in workforce development in the region. The grant is to be distributed over a three-year period. The goals of the program are for Miller and Bowie County to earn and sustain ACT® Work Ready Communities (ACT® WRC) certification.
