MDHEWD earned national recognition at the ACT Summit in Nashville, receiving the ACT Workforce Policy Exemplar Award for helping Missourians advance careers through skills assessments. Missouri leads the nation with 99 Certified Work Ready Communities, with 112 of 115 counties participating.
The Governor’s Workforce of the Future Challenge has seven objectives to improve Career Tech Ed programs in the Show-Me State. Gov. Kehoe's policy directs the Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development to increase WorkKeys implementation in Missouri high schools to ensure every county is a certified work ready county and promote and expand youth apprenticeship opportunities in both K-12 and postsecondary educational settings.
The Missouri Department of Higher Education & Workforce Development (MDHEWD) was recently recognized at the ACT Workforce Summit in Atlanta, Georgia for having 13 counties maintaining or achieving their Certified Work Ready Community status in the past year.
Missouri currently leads the nation with a total of 99 Certified Work Ready Communities and 112 communities that are participating and working towards certification.
